BOD SENSOR - SYSTEMS 6 and 10 - VELP The micro-organisms already present or purposely seeded in a water sample containing biodegradable organic matter, use oxygen for their biochemical processes and produce an equivalent volume of carbon dioxide. If the process develops in a closed system and the carbon dioxide is absorbed by a strong alkali, a progressive decrease of internal pressure can be measured. The standard incubation time at 20C for a reliable measurement of BOD is now universally considered 5 days and the related value is then called BOD5. This corresponds with good reproducibility, considering all the aspects of the technique itself, to 70% of the so called BOD last, that is the value at the complete oxidation, that occurs after a period of 21-28 days. System 6 and System 10 The BOD Sensor Systems 6 and 10 have been developed by VELP according to international safety rules for workers and environment protection. System 6 specifications
System 10 specifications
The Velp BOD Sensor System 6 & 10 are manufactured to ISO 9001 standard and are CE approved. All equipment is Brand New and comes complete with operating manual and a 2 year guarantee. |
