THERMOREACTOR - ECO 6 - VELP Chemical Oxygen Demand means the amount of oxygen from chemical oxidants required for the complete oxidation of substances dissolved or suspended in water. By COD determination it is possible to quantitatively evaluate substances which can be oxidized by strong oxidants like potassium dichromate in highly acidic solutions by concentrated sulphuric acid. Both organic and inorganic substances can be oxidized. The method allows the determination of substances which are not oxidized by the corresponding biological method (BOD = Biological Oxygen Demand), for example cellulose. Chemical oxidation is more complete than biological oxidation and therefore COD values for a given sample are generally higher than BOD values. COD in 30 minutes ! Thermoreactor with microprocessor controlled temperature and heating time and digital display The thermoreactor ECO 6 is purposely designed for COD analysis and also for wet digestion of samples in the evaluation of metallic and non metallic elements in organic and inorganic materials (ores, alloys, animal feed, soils, sediments, tissues, etc.). The instrument allows setting of time and temperature in wide intervals with high precision and reproductivity. It allows simultaneous operation for 6 samples of 20 ml. The precision is very similar to the precision obtained with the traditional method employing large volumes and reflux refrigerator, although saving reagents. Suitable for EPA, APHA, AWWA, WEF Thermoreactor Specifications
The Velp ECO 6 COD are manufactured to ISO 9001 standard and are CE approved. All equipment is Brand New and comes complete with operating manual and a 2 year guarantee.
