  Rotary Hearth Furnacefurnace

Rotary hearth furnace
  • Atmosphere controlled rotary hearth furnace for heating turbine blades prior to forging
  • Maximum operating temperature of the rotary hearth furnace is 1300C
  • Silicon carbide heating elements arranged in 3 zones of control
  • Controls fitted in a free standing cabinet
  • Variable hearth speeds to accommodate different blade sections
  • The annular hearth is 355mm wide
  • Power rating : 50kW
  • Throughput : 70kg/hour

Rotary hearth furnacefurnace

  • For compact sintering facilities using patented powder metal technology for the production of gold, silver and platinum wedding rings
  • Powders are produced directly from the molten state and formed into rectangular sections known as compacts which require sintering
  • The ring compacts are sintered in trays holding several hundred at a time
  • Loading into the furnace is through the entry aperture
  • The hearth pauses every 10 to allow another tray to be loaded, with the length of the pause adjustable to determine the length of the sintering cycle
  • The rings are processed at 750C to 800C within a 95% nitrogen & 5% hydrogen atmosphere
  • The furnace has been designed to allow for a sintering process lasting up to 24 hours
  • Heated by 27 wire spiral resistance elements supported on ceramic tubes mounted horizontally above the furnace hearth
  • The atmosphere is sealed in the furnace by two oil-filled troughs below the furnace hearth and curtains at the loading and unloading positions

Rotary hearth furnacefurnace

  • For heat treating titanium parts
  • Charge 120kg/hour
  • Chamber dimensions: hearth 1200mm OD refractory disc
  • Hearth constructed from hardwearing ceramic which is rotated through a sand seal via a variable speed motor
  • Free radiating Kanthal AF elements mounted horizontally above the hearth in three zones
  • Nitrogen is introduced into the chamber via the element terminal box. Maximum flow is approximately 200 l/min
  • An oxygen probe monitors the atmosphere in the working chamber at a temperature above 750C
  • Working temperature up to 1150C
  • Uniformity : 8C for 180C of hearth rotation directly opposite the door
  • Three zones controlled by Eurotherm 2216 three term digital instruments
located in a free standing control module
  • Power rating : 80kW
  • Power supply : 3 phase 415/240V 50Hz
