The eleven Consort Maxi power supplies cover the widest range of voltages and currents offered in any power supply range. All electrophoresis techniques are covered from Horizontal and Vertical gel electrophoresis, high current blotting to high voltage DNA sequencing and IEF Flatbed techniques. Each power supply model is fully programmable and can permanently store up to nine multi-step, multi parameter programmes for very complex techniques at any one time.
All models in the Consort Maxi Power Supply range offer the researcher the option of constant voltage, current or power with automatic crossover. They also include a timer with optional alarm, which can be set to either time, or volt-hour elapsed. 4 Sets of power outlets give the researcher the option to connect 4 electrophoresis units at the same time. Safety features include overload and short circuit protection and recessed power supply outlets.

Programming: up to 9 different programmes, each with 9 steps, of frequently used parameters can be stored in the non-volatile memory for future recall. Each step is able to recall a next one, providing a flexible multiple step function for special techniques.
- Timer : timer (0 - 99.59 hours) or volt-hour (0 - 99.59 kV/hours) controlled operation. The microcomputer will automatically terminate the run and sound an alarm when the countdown of the selected value is achieved.
- Automatic cross-over : each model has constant voltage, constant current and constant power capabilities with automatic cross-over
- Safety precautions: the user is protected from potential shock hazard since the AC line is automatically disconnected from the high voltage transformer when a ground leakage path is detected 500 ¨ĴA). The instrument is fully protected against any overload condition including accidental short circuit of the output. The high voltage can not suddenly appear at the outputs. It will always increase smoothly up to one of the pre-set limits.
